Do Y'all Need A Breakthrough?

Happy Wednesday Everyone. It definitely feels like a Wednesday. It’s just sort of blah and there is this looming feeling that you know you have two more days to go in the week. It’s been an OK day though. I slept pretty well last night thanks to what I call my “happy night time pill.” Those things are miracle workers. It does take a while for me to gain enough strength to pull my body out of bed in the morning but the rewards are worth it because I am definitely sleeping better. I can’t wait to try it Saturday night when I don’t have to set my alarm on Sunday! I also slept better because I was in my own bed. My parents were in Virginia and thankfully they returned home safe and had a good time. I am especially happy they are back because I was able to hand animal duty back over to them. I think they are much more well suited to deal with slobber, vomit, crying and snoring then I am...also...I’m just glad they are back!

Because my parents and I often vacation together, they always make sure to bring back souvenirs if one of us doesn’t get to go. I got a couple cool t-shirts...and a couple of strange gifts...

The first is the Lady Anti Monkey Butt. Evidently this is like baby powder or a lady Gold Bond or something. If I’m being honest, it’s for chaffing in the nether regions...I’m not gonna lie...I’m pretty satisfied with this souvenir...you never know when you might need it. The other is lip balm with a very interesting name. In case you can’t see, it’s called, “100% pure free range chicken poop lip junk.” Its slogan, “put put it on your lips.” Basically, it’s just lip balm that has beeswax and other stuff in it...it just has a funky name. Also, I think it’s funny that there is a disclaimer that states that there is no actual chicken poop in it. I mean, they WERE in Virginia so I do understand that these are the types of souvenirs they acquired. I like them all though...I’m glad they thought of me.

So, I don’t know if you know who Tony Robbins is but he is a mentor that has gained fame by helping out thousands of people including many celebrities. He now has a new show called Breakthrough...

I was vaguely aware of Tony Robbins before the new show because I had heard people mention him in passing and he was also in the movie Shallow Hal. The premise of his new show is to take people who have experienced extreme tragedy and work with them to turn their life around. The first show was based around a married couple. The day the two of them were married, the husband went to jump in the pool to celebrate and cracked his head on the bottom and instantly became paralyzed. Throughout the show, Tony forces them to do things that they never thought were possible (like skydiving and desert racing) which strengthened their relationship. I know that these shows can be bad because they purposefully trigger the sympathetic parts of our brain that make us cry and feel bad about ourselves...it’s those feelings that keep us watching sometimes. For some people though, it’s a turnoff. I was definitely touched by this show. I am a sucker for shows that help people that deserve it. Even though I know the producers try to keep you watching by tugging your heart strings, I do think this show is inspirational. Not only does it make you realize how blessed you are and how no matter what you are going through...others have faced it too...and sometimes worse. It’s that whole, “nothing is new under the sun,” thing. Watching other people turn their lives around makes you think you might be able to as well. I don’t know...I liked the show...It’s the warm fuzzy kind that makes you want to get to the projects that you’ve been procrastinating on forever. I think y’all should check it out. It’s produced way better than Losing it with Jillian by the way if you didn’t like that show. They aren’t trying to force mental issues like she was...the issues are already there...Tony is just making them do something about it.

Just a thought...if you all like that painful, tearful, inspirational kind of show...you should check it out.

Well, I'm starving so I feel like that means I’m doing Weight Watchers right this week...lol...just kidding...but seriously...I think I might lose this Saturday when I weigh. I can always kind of tell when I’m headed in the right direction. I hope I don’t end up eating these words but I definitely don’t feel like I’m gaining right now. I’m walking my behind off and eating right...I think I deserve a good day on the scales. I will keep you up to date!

Have a good rest of the week!

“A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people.” Don’t Stop Believin’-Journey
