Feeling Down (in a good way)!

Friday is finally here! I’ve had a stressful and busy week but today started off AMAZING. I guess my hard work paid off this morning and someone up in the skies knew I wanted to eat like a champ this weekend because out of NOWHERE, I am down 2.4 pounds!!! I was totally shocked because I am retaining fluid like crazy and I ate way too much last weekend but I figure my body owed me a pound or so because I’ve been exercising like a maniac. That brings my total loss to 111 pounds, exceeding the 110 mark. I changed my picture…it’s not the best one in the world but it will do. I will change it again when I get to 120…which could be a while. I don’t expect to lose for a week or two because I’m traveling this weekend and I always eat like crap when I’m on the road.

This isn’t so much a recipe as a throw together meal that I do when I don’t have recipe plans. I made a turkey breast stir fry. All I did was take the minute rice, turkey breast, green beans, onions and soy sauce and sautéed it all together. Sometimes, I don’t have the groceries to prepare a recipe or I want a quick meal and when this happens, I hunt around my cabinets and I can usually find something. This meal only takes a few minutes and it’s filling. I know it’s kind of cheating to use this as a recipe but if you are looking for quick and tasty, you can almost always find something to sauté in a pan. Plus, I love stir fry, and even though it’s not nearly as yummy as Japanese food, the taste of the soy sauce and rice provides a decent substitute.

This is something my mom bought me…it’s a combo muff and scarf…a scuff if you will. She explained to us what the innocent meaning of a muff was a long time ago and we are always bringing up the word. Also, I love scarves, so when she saw this, she got it for me. I thought it was adorable and I can’t wait to wear it to a ballgame! It needs to get cold first I guess.

Mom, Jordan and I saw our first of 5 Broadway shows in Birmingham last Sunday. We are going to the whole season so we are going to see some fun shows. I’m not a huge opera fan and our seats are really far right so I had a hard time seeing the stage but all in all it was a fun time. The title Les Mis is certainly appropriate as it has a depressing event every few minutes, but the music was good and I always love a show. I can’t wait for the next ones coming up.

Dad and I are headed to the Swamp in Gainesville, Florida this afternoon to watch Alabama play the Gators on Saturday night. I am so excited to go because I’ve never been and I love traveling to see games. It is a long drive and an expensive trip though so I hope we win!

Because Dad and I are going to Florida, we are going to miss my mom’s birthday tomorrow. We are still going to celebrate it but we won’t be there. I hope you have a great birthday Mom! Love you!

These are my before and after pics for the week. Boy oh boy, that first one is something else. It’s good to know that even at my biggest, I wasn’t camera shy…I still enjoyed pictures of myself. I am and have always been a ham, in multiple senses of the term. Oh well, I’m down 111 pounds now and even though it’s a much slower battle now than when I started, I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and I will continue to plug away.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend!

Roll Tide!

Pray we come back in one piece and that I don’t go too crazy on tailgating fare!

Bye!

“Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.” Where Everybody Knows Your Name-Gary Portnoy & Judy Hart Angelo (Cheers Lyrics)
